Why I Founded Benjamin Henry Ltd
When clients invite a construction company into their home, they're placing one of life's greatest investments - & an enormous amount of trust - into the hands of that team.
After nearly two decades in the construction industry, I saw too many homeowners left disappointed. Projects that should have been exciting became stressful because promises weren't kept, communication broke down, workmanship fell short or clients simply didn't feel valued. I knew construction could - & should - be different.
I founded Benjamin Henry Ltd in 2020 with a simple ambition: to build the kind of company I would want working on my own family home.
A company where people are treated with respect. Where honesty comes before excuses. Where quality isn't just judged by what you can see on the day of handover, but by how a home performs for years to come & where trust is earned through actions, not words.
Those principles have shaped every decision we've made as a business.
We've built an experienced team that shares the same values, invested in developing our own in-house expertise & embraced modern building science through Passivhaus principles & continual professional development. Not because it's fashionable, but because we believe our clients deserve homes that are healthier, more comfortable, more efficient & built to last.
None of this means we'll never face challenges. Construction is complex & every project is unique. But it does mean you'll always know where you stand with us. We'll communicate openly, take responsibility for our decisions & work tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome.

My Role
As Founder & Managing Director, I provide the strategic leadership of Benjamin Henry Ltd, ensuring our values, quality standards & long-term vision are reflected throughout the business. Day-to-day project delivery is led by our dedicated Project Managers & Small Works Manager, while I maintain oversight through regular reviews, weekly reporting & close collaboration with the wider team.
Setting the long-term direction of Benjamin Henry Ltd & ensuring our values are reflected in every decision we make.
Identifying new opportunities, strengthening partnerships & positioning the company for sustainable growth.
Supporting important client relationships & ensuring the highest standards of communication throughout every project.
Working closely with architects, designers & clients to refine ideas into buildable, beautiful homes.
Reviewing project commercials, managing risk & making sure resources are allocated to protect quality & value.
Driving rigorous standards across every stage of construction, from planning through to final handover.
Promoting Passivhaus principles, modern building science & smarter ways to build for the long term.
Investing in our people, sharing knowledge & helping the next generation of craftspeople & leaders grow.
Encouraging a culture of learning, reflection & refinement so that every project is better than the last.

The project required balancing heritage conservation with modern building performance, carefully preserving the building's character while discreetly introducing contemporary construction techniques that will protect & enhance it for decades to come.

Outside of Work
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my wife & two sons, exploring the countryside & developing my bushcraft skills.
Bushcraft has strengthened my appreciation for preparation, craftsmanship, patience & respect for natural materials - qualities that continue to influence both my personal life & the culture of Benjamin Henry Ltd.
