The Guest House

The Brief

We're proud to show the third & final of our set of 3 barn conversions; Barn C, now known as 'The Guest House'. This was an existing barn/outbuilding. Unfortunately before we were due to commence work the structure was deemed unsafe & had to be demolished so this is technically a new build not a conversion. This means that The Guest House is essentially a complete new build, but in true Benjamin Henry Ltd style, you'd never know! We have made it blend perfectly with the other two barns; full of character.

The Build

To start with it was identified that there was asbestos roof sheeting on & in the barn, we got this professionally removed & disposed of before starting any other work. Due to the walls being condemned we had to remove all the old building & dug new footing. We saved all the stone, which was used on the face of walls at the front & on the sides. We used traditional brick laying techniques & natural stone to make sure it not only closely resembled the original structure but also matched Barn A & B.

The Finished Home

The completed Guest House is a beautiful blend of traditional craftsmanship & modern comfort, sitting effortlessly alongside its neighbouring barns whilst retaining its own unique identity. Although technically a new build, the careful use of reclaimed natural stone, green oak trusses & sympathetic detailing ensures it feels as though it has always belonged within the landscape. Inside, vaulted ceilings, bespoke oak joinery & thoughtfully designed living spaces create a light-filled, welcoming retreat, complete with a spacious open-plan living area, bedroom & beautifully finished wet room. Powered by an air source heat pump with underfloor heating throughout, the Guest House combines timeless character with modern efficiency, delivering a truly exceptional home that complements the wider barn development.
